The Battery Unit
Your rechargeable battery will eventually stop holding a charge (usually after 12–18 months of daily use). Do not attempt to dismantle the battery casing yourself. Empty Plastic Pods
When your refillable pod or pre-filled pod is empty, it needs to be separated from the battery. While some municipalities accept cleaned PCTG plastic pods in standard household plastics recycling, the most responsible method is to deposit them in dedicated vape recycling bins, where the plastic and integrated metal coils are separated mechanically.
E-Liquid Bottles
Empty 10ml Nic Salt bottles and 100ml Shortfill bottles are made from standard recyclable plastics (usually PET). Once empty, give them a quick rinse to remove residual nicotine, and place them directly into your standard household plastic recycling bin.

The WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive is a European standard, meaning that no matter where you are in the UK or the EU, retailers and local governments provide free drop-off points for your old batteries.

In the Netherlands, e-waste is managed brilliantly through the Wecycle scheme (inleverpunten). You can drop off your old vape batteries in the designated Wecycle bins located at the entrance of almost every major supermarket (like Albert Heijn or Jumbo), hardware stores, and electronics retailers.
