Are Disposable Vapes Allowed On Flights?

The answer to this question is simple. Yes, disposable vapes are allowed on planes. However, it’s important to note that this doesn’t apply to passengers travelling with e-cigarettes that have refillable tanks or cartridges.

The reason for the ban on these vaping devices may be different from what you expect. It’s because they may contain more vape juice than the allowed limit of liquid for carry-on baggage which is 100 millilitres per item. Disposable Vapes due to UK vaping regulations are way below 100ml.

Can I take my vape on a plane?

This is a common question that many people ask themselves when they’re about to board their flight. The answer is not simple and varies depending on the airline. Some airlines allow disposable vapes while others don’t.

Airlines have a strict policy when it comes to e-cigarettes on planes. They are strictly prohibited in checked baggage and can only be stored in your carry-on. You’re allowed to bring one e-cig device with you on the plane, but any disposable vapes or refill cartridges must be taken through security and can only be stored in your carry-on baggage.

Leading Airlines’ Policies on Vaping Devices

Ryanair – You are allowed to take e-cigarettes on board but you must not use this or any other form of a cigarette while on a flight.

EasyJet – You can take e-cigarettes in your hand luggage, but you cannot use them on the plane.

British Airways – You are not allowed to take an e-cigarette in your checked baggage—you must carry it in your hand luggage. You must not use it under any circumstances during the flight or within the airport grounds unless at the airport there are designated smoking areas.

Aer Lingus – You are allowed to take the e-cigarette on board but it must be in your hand luggage and you must not use them on the plane.

Virgin Atlantic – You are allowed to take the e-cigarette on board but it must be in your hand luggage and you must not use it. There are no blanket rules on using e-cigarettes on planes. If an airline does not make its policy on e-cigarettes clear, you can contact them in advance. However, it is safest to assume that you are not permitted to use e-cigarettes on the plane.
