Pod vapes come in two varieties: open systems and closed pod systems.

Closed Pod Systems:

Closed pod systems, like SKE Crystal Plus and Elf Bar ELFA, have prefilled pod cartridges but are not refillable. They’re convenient and portable, but you have fewer flavour options.

Disposable Vape Pens:

Another type of closed pod system is the disposable vape pen, which has an integrated non-refillable pod and internal battery. Open Pod Systems:

Open system pod vapes use refillable pods that can be filled with any e-liquid flavour. These pods can have integrated or interchangeable coils.

Best E-Liquids for Pod Kits:

Pod vapes typically have higher resistance coils and lower power output. For these devices, e-liquids with higher PG content work best, as PG is more watery, vaporises easily, and provides a throat hit similar to smoking. In open pod kits, a 50:50 or 60:40 VG to PG ratio is usually ideal.

Nicotine salts are also compatible with pod kits, as they deliver higher nicotine levels without a harsh taste or throat hit. They are suitable for vapers transitioning from smoking and require high nicotine levels.
